MARCH - MAY 2008

Building A Strong Foundation

For this very reason, make every effort to add to your faith goodness; and to goodness, knowledge; and to knowledge, self control; and to self control, perseverance; and to perseverance, godliness; and to godliness, brotherly kindness; and to brotherly kindness, love. For if you possess these qualities in increasing measure, they will keep you from being ineffective and unproductive in your knowledge of our Lord Jesus Christ. - 2 Peter 1:5-8

TOPICS FROM THE GOSPEL OF JOHN

Do you feel like you have trouble knowing God? You are not alone, because I, and many others do as well. But, the subject of knowing God comes up more times in this gospel than any other subject. So let’s get to know God together as He is revealed in the book of John.

BEYOND THE VEIL

Do you see Christ’s teachings when you are reading the Old Testament?  In this interactive class, we will study Old and New Testament characters as well as topics relating to God’s direction, correction, intervention, and His faithfulness.  We will study events spanning Genesis (where Biblical seeds of truth are planted) to the cross of Christ and the early church. Individual topics will be covered in each of the thirteen weeks of the class tied together by a common theme.

NEW LIFE IN CHRIST - EXPLORING THE BASICS

This class is specifically designed to help people understand the basic elements of a relationship with Jesus Christ. It will define what a new life in Christ is all about, why we all need to make a personal decision to serve Christ, and how to begin the lifelong journey of building a relationship with Him.

THE BOOK OF DANIEL

The conquest of the Holy City by an evil empire! Fiery furnaces! Dens of lions! Spectral handwriting on walls!  Prophetic Dreams! Other-worldly battles between angels and demons!  Prophecies of epic future events!  This is not the latest coming attraction from Hollywood, it is the Book of Daniel. Four young Jewish men find themselves in pagan Babylon after the siege and defeat of Jerusalem.  They are alone and confronted with some of the most severe trials and tests recorded in Scripture.  Yet they not only survive but rise to the highest level of prominence in the greatest empire of the day.  How did they do it and how can we learn from their faithfulness in the face of great adversity?  The Book of Daniel has some of the greatest lesson to be learned on how to live a Godly life in an ungodly world.  And there is more!  Except for Revelation, no other book of the Bible has more prophetic significance.  This class will look at the entire Book of Daniel to see what it has to say about how we are to live today and what we can look forward to in the future.
