At Bethany, we believe that discipleship is not optional but essential for every believer. There is no such thing as a Christian who is not a disciple. Not only that, but “discipleship” is not a dirty word; it is the process by which a person grows to be more like Jesus and every believer desires to be like Him. As John, one of the first disciples put it, “Whoever claims to live in Him must walk as Jesus did.” Our goal is to help people intentionally grow in their relationship with and likeness to Jesus.
“FORWARD” Discipleship Track
“Every believer is called to discipleship, not just conversion.”
FORWARD is a discipleship track composed of six core stages that will help you intentionally follow Christ and teach you how to continue growing.
Direction I & II
You will learn (or be reminded of) some essentials of the Christian faith and discuss how to apply them to your life.

Plan & Point – In Plan & Point you will learn to intentionally follow Christ by developing a spiritual growth plan. You will also learn to share your faith with others.

Creed – In Creed you will learn the most important beliefs of this church and discuss how they apply to real life.

Matters Of The Heart – Ken Milton – Chapel
A practical overview of “heart issues” which matter greatly to our spiritual and emotional health. We will examine key verses in Proverbs and the teachings of Jesus, in areas of anger, jealousy, worry, unforgiveness and discouragement. Proverbs 4:23. “Above all else, guard your heart, for it is the wellspring of life”.
Practical Christian Living – Reverend Marlin Odom – Room 100
(These units will be broken up over a two-month period.)
Unit 1: 1 & 2 Thessalonians – Is the way you live a good testimony for Christ? Are you truly living in anticipation of His return? Through this unit, you will be challenged to live to please God more and more each day.
Unit 2: Redemption and Spiritual Renewal – Sin ruined the relationship between God and people. But God, in His mercy, provided the way for that relationship to be restored and then transformed into the image of the Redeemer, our Lord Jesus Christ. This study will flesh out these truths.
