At Bethany, we believe that discipleship is not optional but essential for every believer. There is no such thing as a Christian who is not a disciple. Not only that, but “discipleship” is not a dirty word; it is the process by which a person grows to be more like Jesus and every believer desires to be like Him. As John, one of the first disciples put it, “Whoever claims to live in Him must walk as Jesus did.” Our goal is to help people intentionally grow in their relationship with and likeness to Jesus.
Forward New Year Kick-Off
January 8 is Forward’s kick-off for the New Year. There will be an emphasis on discipleship, particularly within the discipleship track. There will also be a booth set-up in the lobby where you can have your questions concerning Forward answered and where individuals can help you see where you fit into the Discipleahip track. Start your year off right by making the decision to be intentional about your relationship with Christ. Get involved in Forward!
“FORWARD” Discipleship Track
“Every believer is called to discipleship, not just conversion.”
FORWARD is a discipleship track composed of six core stages that will help you intentionally follow Christ and teach you how to continue growing.
The following three stages are those being offered this term:
Direction I – Clay Savoie, Room 201 at 9:00 AM
Direction II – In Direction I & II you will learn (or be reminded of) some essentials of the Christian faith and discuss how to apply them to your life.
Following are the descriptions of the other stages that will be offered in subsequent terms:
Legend – Every Map has a legend; here you will learn to read and study your Bible.
Creed – In Creed you will learn the most important beliefs of this church and discuss how they apply to real life.
LifePlan – LifePlan will help you identify the gifts that God has given you and put them to work serving Him and His people.

When The Enemy Strikes – Pastor Peter Patterson – Chapel
At some point every Christian will experience some form of satanic attack—a willful, determined assault by the devil to harm spirit, soul, and/or body. God wants us to be under His control, but the enemy will do his best to destroy everything good in our lives. This study will inform and prepare you to overcome these attacks and live a victorious Christian life. Book: “When the Enemy Strikes” by Charles Stanley.
