2008 SNED Music and Worship Conference

Carl and Leann Albrecht will be coming to New England as our guests for the 2008 SNED Music & Worship Conference, September 20, 2008. If their names aren't familiar to you, you certainly know them by their music. Carl is the lead drummer for all of Integrity Music's CD's and drummer for all of Integrity's SEMINARS4WORSHIP. Leann, Carl's wife, is a vocalist on all of Integrity's CDs, is a vocal coach, was previously the Worship Leader at Belmont Church in Nashville, and now tours with Integrity's S4W with Carl as a background vocalist when not doing studio vocals in Nashville. I had the privilege of meeting them this past summer when S4W came to New England. They have a heart for teaching and encouraging those in music ministries. The thrust of the conference is to the worship teams and worship bands in our churches. In addition to the general sessions, Leann will do workshops on vocals/worship leading and worship team training, Carl will do workshops on drums (duh) and worship band training.

Coming with them will be three accomplished professional musicians from Nashville. Gary Lunn is a bass guitar player/specialist, Mike Bauer is an acoustic/lead guitar specialist, and David McKay is a keyboardist/arranger. They will also be teaching in our workshops and playing in the general sessions. There will be something for everyone at this conference. From first-class teaching and demonstrations of technique and styles on acoustic/lead guitars, bass, and drums (for the worship bands), teaching of vocal styles, concepts, and training (for the worship singers), and keyboard technique and styles (for you keyboard people), the day will be filled with a lot of instruction and inspiration. Add to that our new chorus reading session, a fabulous hot lunch, and all the fellowship you can handle, the day will be well worth the time and money.

Cost is still $25.00 per person, $15.00 for high school and college students, and will again be hosted by Bethany Assembly of God in Agawam, MA., just north of Six Flags New England. I am excited about this year's conference. Spread the word, bring all of your worship team, and enjoy the day. This conference is NOT for you to come and support what the District is doing. This conference is what the District is doing to support your music ministries in your church.
