Children's Pastor

Chuck and Colleen Heimann

Pastor Chuck was born and raised in Long Island, NY where he enjoyed a happy and healthy childhood. He was active in many areas in school and enjoyed playing a variety of sports. Following high school he spent 3 years in college at Stevens Institute of Technology in Hoboken, NJ.

His education was interrupted by 4 years serving in the U.S. Air Force at Loring AFB, Limestone, ME, where he met and married his wife Colleen. After being discharged from the Air Force in 1970, Chuck continued his education and received a Bachelors degree from Lowell University. Following his graduation, Chuck began his first position with Malden Mills in Lawrence, MA, in 1973, and stayed in textiles for 13 years before changing to the bookbinding and printing industry.

Chuck and Colleen moved their family to Springfield and began attending Bethany in 1981 and became active almost immediately in choir then Sunday School. Chuck began teaching in Sunday School in 1987 and then joined Super Church in 1995. It was at this time that God began to lay it on Chuck’s heart to go into full time Children’s ministry. Chuck began to take courses through North Central Bible College. Since that time the burden has never lifted and in July, 2004, God opened the door to become the Children’s Pastor at Bethany. Chuck is now completing his degree in Religious Education with Global University, Springfield, MO.
