Richard and Pat Adams
Biography
Pastor Adams was born in Holyoke
and raised in Belchertown.
After serving 6 years as an
Army Pilot with one tour of
duty flying CH-47 helicopters
in Vietnam, he met his lovely
wife, Pat. She is the daughter
of an Army Colonel and was
born in Texas. They were married
in July of 1973 and then stationed
with the Army in South Korea,
where Pastor Adams served
as a test pilot and Pat worked
as a dental assistant. In
Korea, Pastor Adams accepted
Christ after reading Hal Lindsey's
book, The Late Great Planet
Earth. In 1975, he left the
U.S. Army and enrolled at
UMASS as a Political Science
Major.
They began attending Bethany where Pastor Adams was baptized in the Holy Spirit and called into ministry. He graduated from the Assemblies of God Graduate School in Springfield, Missouri, with a Master's Degree in Cross Cultural Communication and a Master's Degree in Divinity. He was Pastor of Liberty Assembly of God and then Woodbourne Assembly of God in New York before moving overseas.
For the last nineteen years the Adams' served as A/G missionaries to the Chinese in Taipei, Taiwan. Pastor Adams was Senior Pastor of Agape International Christian Assembly in Taipei, the Director of China Radio and the National Director and adjunct faculty member of Global University. Pat was enrolled in the Institute of Pastoral Counseling in Akron, Ohio. She has been actively involved in counseling, office management, editing, women's Bible studies and friendship evangelism.
The Adams have two sons-Ben and Sam. Ben is a graduate of Case Western Reserve University in Cleveland, Ohio. Sam recently graduated from Full Sail University in Orlando, Florida with an associate degree in Media Arts/Audio Engineering. The Adams have a Cavalier King Charles Spaniel named Charlie--a veteran world-traveler and best friend.
