RFKC Golf Tournament

This year marks our 9th year of the Royal Family Kids’ Camp Golf Tournament and we are looking forward to making it the biggest and best year yet. Royal Family Kids Camp is for abused and neglected children, who are in the custody of the Department of Social Services. This will be our 14 th year of making a difference in the lives of children from the Pioneer Valley. The children who attend this camp are between the ages of 7 and 11.

Every year in our area, hundreds of children are removed from their homes and placed in the foster care system because of severe abuse or neglect. For these little ones, life has come to a dead end even before it has begun. Through participation in this tournament you can be a part of their cure. The outing will be July 24, 2010 at St. Anne’s Country Club.

During their time at camp the children participate in crafts, fishing, swimming and many other recreational and educational experiences. This week of camp provides for them the opportunity to experience life from a very positive perspective. They gain confidence not only in themselves but also from the adults who are caring for them during the camp.

College/Young Adult Bonfire

Saturday, July 24 (rain date: 7/31), following Nightlife, we are going to be lighting up a sweet bonfire out in the fields behind the facility. We’ll be playing volleyball & basketball for those interested, and also roasting weenies and marshmallows… should be a good time, so be there. And bring a friend along who thinks church is weird, and hopefully we can show them otherwise. See you there, people!

Christian Comedian Justin Fennell

Everyone loves a good laugh. That’s what you are guaranteed to experience when you hear Justin Fennell.  His professional experience includes working as the Director of Institutional Advancement of a private college in Florida as well as serving as an Associate Pastor. Justin has filled the Bethany pulpit in the past and we are delighted to have him back again.

Summer Bash 2010

2010 Summer Bash | Sunday, July 4th | 4pm – 8pm

Near the softball fields and under the Big Tent.

A picnic outreach event for EVERYONE to enjoy. Bring a friend to experience the excitement, and a dessert to share. The church will supply delicious hamburgers, hot dogs, potato chips, macaroni salad and water. If you want soda feel free to bring a 2 liter to share. Bring a comfy lawn chair if you want and get ready to have fun playing some games, listening to music or just sitting around talking.

The car and motorcycle show will be back with another buffalo soldiers salute with the sound of roaring engines.

The fun starts at 4 and the food will be served at 5.

Revo: Tent Style

Wednesday, July 7 @ 6:00 p.m. we will be having Revolution out under the tent. Be sure to come out at 6:00pm as we will be having games, volleyball, basketball, food and more. We will also be baptizing students in the pool on that night so sign up at Revolution if you are interested in being baptized.

Kids’ Musical

A special children’s service and musical, Under God’s Sea in 3-D, is scheduled for Sunday, June 13, 6 p.m., in the main sanctuary. It’s always a blessing seeing our kids minister and perform, so don’t miss out!

New Ladies Bible Study

Every Tuesday morning starting June 8, a new ladies bible study, “A Beautiful Mind” by Beth Moore, will be in the Fireplace Room at 10am. This is a five week DVD study. There will be no workbook or homework. Class discussions will be facilitated by Roseann Harding. There will be prayer in the Memorial Chapel at 9am.

In Beth Moore’s new series, A Beautiful Mind, she covers how the enemy is out to steal, kill and destroy you with fear, which is the root of rejection, insecurity and jealousy. For more information about this exciting study, see Beth Moore’s Website.

This Week at Nightlife

This week at nightlife we are going to be talking about our understanding of the cross and its implications for our lives. Why did God use the cross instead of some other way? Why has the cross become a cultural symbol often worn by people who don’t seem to understand what it is all about? What do a shopping mall and the cross have in common? Be there to find out! This week is going to be critical for our understanding of 1 Corinthians and what it even means to be a Christian. See you there.
